So I asked around, and the response was that there was someone on Quadra who did it years back. It is possible to do yourself - there's various instructions online. I was about to attempt it myself, and in the midst of preparation Styles Auto Marine Upholestry at 631 Princess Ave took on the work.
I just picked up the saddle - it looks great but time will tell how good the glue will work. Styles was said they were fine with me referring others who'd be interested, but stressed that it's a case-by-case basis because some saddles won't take staples\etc.
