Windsor VCL

Post by trevor » Fri May 24, 2013 9:29 am

This year's first Windsor VCL went down last weekend. The event saw huge numbers with 24 As, 32 Bs, and 32 Cs - that's 86 racers out! Wow!
The weather was cloudy early and opened up to fantastic sunshine by the end of the B race with little to no wind.
The A race was quick with several attempts from various clubc to get a successful break. Jon, Dan, Gav, Scotty and I all worked at different times hoping to get Scotty on the podium. We managed to take control of the final 4 laps but coldn't sustain on bell lap. Scotty managed 5th with the rest of us finising throughout the rest of the bunch.
The B race was owned by G-off Robson who soloed away from a break of 4 for the win. Big shout out to him on this courageos effort. There was an unfortunate crash involving a few riders. All-around-good-guy-TSer John Taylor took the worst of it and spent a few days at VGH with some broken ribs, lacerated liver, and bruised ego. We wish you a speedy and full recovery John and we'll be missing you out there while you're healing.
The next Windsor race is not until July 7th - be sure to come out and race, cheer, play, whatever - this race is a blast!
Thanks Jenny and all the other volunteers for another awesome Wheeler event!!
Trevor
